What is TETA? Timisoara English Teachers' Association is a regional association which is open to English language professionals from Timis and the neighbouring counties. TETA is part of RATE (The Romanian Association of Teachers of English), the federation including three other regional associations: CETA (Cluj), BETA (Bucuresti), and MATE (Moldova). RATE is also member of IATEFL.TETA's, as well as RATE's, vision is to develop a network of professionals that addresses the needs of the Romanian society for quality education and worldwide communication. TETA'S OBJECTIVES: -To raise the credibility and status of English teachers as professionals. -To represent the interests of teachers of English and to make their voices heard in the wider community. -To promote self-development in order to meet higher standards in the teaching profession. -To help teachers and teacher trainers to 'translate' theory into classroom action. -To disseminate best ELT practice. -To provide access to information, expertise and materials connected to teaching. -To develop a regional, national and international networks of professionals. -To create an awareness of shared human values. -To meet European standards in education.
